SmartCard2
v2.0 Firmware Released
DriveRight
Note
A
short time ago a customer reported that two SmartCard features
we're not working. Namely, programming a new PIN code or Trip
Stop Time into a DriveRight. This firmware revision fixes
both problems.
Any
SmartCard2 On Board Reader with a manufacturing code of September
26th, 2006 and later will have the latest firmware. We did
rework the few dozen we had in finished goods as well. Those
that were reworked have a small black X written on the bottom
of their package.
This
bug was actually present in the original SmartCard On Board
Readers as well and not just in SmartCard2 On Board Readers.
However, this firmware release in only for the SmartCard2
On Board Readers. Our presumption is that since no one ever
noticed the problem in the original readers we will not have
a great need to fix the problem in the earlier models.
Since
there is currently no easy way to update Readers in the field
anyone wishing to resolve this issue will need to return their
Readers to the factory for service.
